We need to cut our emissions by 50% by the year 2050. In order to achieve this, industrialised nations will have to decrease their emissions by 80%.

If we can cut our total emissions by 50% by the year 2050, then we can keep the global temperature rise below the 2 degree Celsius mark. Failure to do this means we will experience the full effect of global warming.

A family of four in Bangladesh emits a total of 1.3 tons of CO2 per annum.

A heavy off-road vehicle emits 1.3 tons of CO2 in 3000 kilometres of travelling.

An economical light vehicle emits 1.3 tons of CO2 in 18000 kilometres of travelling.

Four USA residents produce 1.3 tons of CO2 per annum just as a result of the meat that they eat.

Every kilogram of meat produced results in emission of about 4 kilograms of greenhouse gases.

To achieve the 2 degree goal by 2050, every human being will have to limit his total personal output to 1.3 tons of CO2 per annum.

The USA emits 6 billion tons of CO2 every year which works out to about 20 tons per person per annum. The output per capita in China is a little over 3 tons per annum and sub-Saharan Africa is about 1 ton per capita per annum.

If you leave the water running while you brush your teeth, you waste about 7 litres of water. That's 15 litres a day or 5400 litres a year.
